October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month!
Why are we telling you this?
We are introducing our new “Signs of Hope” Initiative. You pick your charity, pick your ribbon color and your rental dates, we provide you with an awareness ribbon sign in your chosen color. Rentals are $50 a week with 50% of the rental fee being donated to your chosen charity.
We chose October to start this initiative because co-owner, Hailey Hudson, suffers from Dysautonomia. According to the Cleveland Clinic, "Dysautonomia is a general term for a group of disorders that share a common problem – that is, an autonomic nervous system (ANS) that doesn’t function as it should. The ANS is the part of the nervous system that controls involuntary body functions (functions you don’t consciously control) like your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, digestion, body and skin temperature, hormonal function, bladder function, and many other functions." Every October we work to raise awareness of this life altering condition and raise money for Dysautonomia International, our chosen charity. This is one of many charities we hope to support with “Signs of Hope”.

Celebration Yard Signs was started in Tyler, Texas in 2012 by Belinda and Steve Short. Together with Belinda's dad, they designed, cut out, hand painted, and assembled the wooden signs, and a business was born. For eight years, they helped the people of Tyler and surrounding areas celebrate countless numbers of births, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and many other memorable events. In September 2020, the Shorts sold the business to mother/daughter duo Valerie and Hailey Hudson, and the tradition continues.
